Little River Boys Capture 1ARegional Track Title at Lincoln, Girls Place 4th

The Little River High School boys track team captured first place at the Kansas Class 1A regional meet Thursday at Lincoln with 82 points and the Little River girls placed fourth with 59.

In the boys teams standings, Lincoln placed second with 66 points, followed by Beloit-St. ZJohn’s Catholic 54.5, Osborne 38 and Blue Valley 38.

Clifton-Clyde won the girls team title with 102 points, followed by Hanover 66 and Osborne 64. Central Plains placed fifth with 53 points.

Little River boys regional champions are Tristan Bristow, 100-meter dash (11.38 seconds); 4×100 relay (44.04); and Christopher Norez, javelin (176 feet, 4 inches).

Little River girls regional champions are Dempsey Lafferty, javelin (135-10); and Havana Olander, triple jump (36-8.5).

Goessel’s Eli Gaeddert placed first in the 800 (2:01.61), 1600 (4:37.53) and 3200 (10:21.5). Wakefield’s Kingsley Smith won the shot put (52-6.75) and discus (164-5). Lincoln’s Xavier Miller won the 200 (22.78) and 400 (50.28).

Other boys regional champions were Thunder Ridge’s Rashad Stafford, 110 hurdles (15.42); Osborne, 4×400 relay (3:32.98); Clifton-Clyde, 4×800 relay (8:44.78); Sylvan-Lucas’ Ben Bell, pole vault (13-0); Otis-Bison’s Gavin Alloway, long jump (21-6.5) and Beloit-St. John’s Catholic’s Edward Horinek, triple jump (44-9).

Clifton-Clyde’s Sevy Wurtz placed first in the girls 100-meter dash (12.95) and long jump (18-10.5).

Hanover’s Gracie Bruna placed first in the 200 (25.82) and 400 (59.09). Hanover’s Einslee Stallbaumer won the 100 hurdles (16.24) and 200 hurdles (46.29). Clifton-Clyde’s Calyn Baker won the shot put (38-2) and discus (136-7).

Other girls regional champions are Central Plains’ Kambree Nixon, 800 (2:20.82); Osborne’s Hallie Mick, 1600 (11:57.92); Canton-Galva, 4×100 relay (51.42); Hanover, 4×400 relay (4:10.09); Rock Hills, 4×800 relay (9:54.06); and Blue Valley’s Bryleigh Brockman, high jump (5-0).

Second-pace finishers for the Little River boys were Logan Schubert, 100 (11.66); Jhett Ewertt, 200 (23.33); and Cole Dieball, discus (162-5). Tristan Bristow placed third in the 200 (23.52).

Fourth-place finishers were Kal-El Robinson, 100 (11.79); Logan Schubert, 400 (41.67); the 4×400 relay team (3:36.32); and Cole Dieball, shot put (48-2.5).

There were no second-place finishers for the Little River girls. Third-place went to Abby Schroeder, 800 (2:24.82); 4×100 relay team (51.78); 4×400 relay team (4:14.05); and Adelynne Strecker, long jump (16-8.5).

Fourth place went to Jolie Myers, triple jump (33-2); and Avery Lafferty, discus (102-4).

According to Page 24 of the KSHSAA 2025-26 Track and Field Manual, in all regionals, winners of the top three places (including relays) will qualify for the Kansas State Track and Field Championship Track Meet May 29-30 at Wichita State University’s Crossland Stadium (formerly known as Cessna Stadium).

The next six best performances in each event will qualify for the State Track and Field Meet.

No more than four at-large qualifiers can come from the same regional. It is not possible to finish eighth at regionals and qualify for the state meet.

Only times run in the finals shall be used to determine at-large qualifiers for the state meet.

Times from prelims may not be used to determine at-large qualifiers to the state meet.

In the event of ties for third place, the tie-breaking procedure shall be used.
