Moundridge’s Kaizer Kanitz captured the first-place gold medal in the Class 2A boys long jump Friday at the Kansas State High School Track and Field Championships.
The state track meet took place Friday and Saturday at Crossland Stadium on the Wichita State University campus.
The Moundridge boys placed third in Kansas Class 2A with 49 points and the Wildcat girls tied for seventh with 32 points.
Kanitz posted a personal record and Kansas Top 50 mark of (22-2.75) in the long jump and he was third in the triple jump (44-0.75).
Moundridge’s Heath Churchill placed second in the 2A boys high jump (6-8) and second in the 110-meter hurdles (14.82). He was second in the 110 hurdles preliminaries (15.06).
Brayden Elmore was seventh in the 2A boys pole vault (13-0) and 21st in the high jump (5-10).
The Moundridge boys 4×400-meter relay team placed sixth (3:52.62) and the 4×800 relay team placed 11th (8:42.6).
Cammi Unruh placed fourth in the 2A girls long jump and fifth in the girls 100-meter dash (12.72).
The Moundridge girls 4×800-meter relay team finished fourth (10:24.38) and the 4×400 relay placed sixth (4:14.33).
Moundridge’s Aspyn Stos placed seventh in the 2A girls shot put (36-6.75). Mackie Conkling placed seventh in the 2A girls 800-meter run.
