MANHATTAN, Kansas – K-State women’s basketball head coach Jeff Mittie has added another international talent to the 2026-27 roster, as forward Cristina Osazuwa from Italy has signed with the Wildcats.
“Cristina gives us a power forward that is versatile enough to play away from the basket and powerful enough at the rim to make plays at a high level,” said Mittie. “We are looking forward to her joining our team this fall.”
Osazuwa, a 6’2″ forward, took part in this summer’s Italian Senior National Team training camp in their preparations for the 2026 FIBA Women’s World Cup in Germany.
Prior to her participation in the senior national team camp, Osazuwa helped Italy to a third-place finish at the 2025 FIBA U20 Women’s EuroBasket by averaging 14.0 points on a .567 field goal percentage, 7.9 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 1.1 steals and 0.9 blocks in seven games played. At the conclusion of the event, she was selected to the All-Star 5 for her performances during the tournament. She ranked seventh in the event in rebounds and 15th in scoring. She carded a 31-point, seven-rebound performance against the Netherlands in the final group phase game for Italy.
In the 2024 FIBA U20 Women’s EuroBasket, Osazuwa aided Italy to a third-place finish by carding averages of 8.1 points, 5.7 rebounds and 1.1 assists in seven games.
In the 2025-26 club season, Osazuwa played in the Italian Serie A with Allianz Geas Sesto San Giovanni. She saw action in 14 games and averaged 4.4 points on a .538 field goal percentage and 2.8 rebounds.
The 2026-27 K-State roster will feature players from the United States, Belgium, France, Greece, Italy, Slovenia and Spain.
K-State returns seven letterwinners for the 2026-27 season, which accounted for 74 percent of the assists, 55 percent of the points and 52 percent of the rebounds.
