Hutchinson Trinity Catholic High School senior Drew Dechant is ranked as one of Kansas Class 2-1A’s top baseball pitchers to watch as of Tuesday, May 5.
Dechant has 94 strikeouts in 42.1 innings pitched with an 0.99 earned run average. He has helped lead the Trinity Celtics to a 15-3 record in 2026. Trinity has the third-best record in Class 2-1A Region 4.
Little River’s Camden Strecker and Inman’s Dalton Priddy also made the 2-1A list.
Stecker has 71 strikeouts in 40 innings with a 1.58 ERA and has helped lead Little River to a 16-4 record. Priddy has 68 strikeouts in 40.2 innings with a 2.07 ERA for an Inman team that has an 11-9 record.
Ellinwood’s Cohen Gunn made the list in Kansas Class 3A. Gunn has 65 strikeouts in 30.2 innings pitched with an 0.91 ERA for an 8-12 Eagles’ squad.
Cheney’s Reece Tolar had 87 strikeouts in 42.1 innings with a 1.98 ERA. The Cardinals are 15-9 this season.
