Hutchinson Trinity Boys, Moundridge Girls Capture Heart of America League Track Titles

There Hutchinson Trinity Catholic boys and the Moundridge girls captured the team titles Thursday at the Heart of American League track and field championships Thursday at Bennington.

The Hutchinson Trinity boys placed first with 12 points, followed by Inman 96, Berean Academy 64, Moundridge 62.5, Marion 50, Remington 48, Sterling 47, Sedgwick 34, Wichita Central Christian Academy 18, Ell-Saline 12.5, Bennington 11 and Classical School of Wichita 3.

Moundridge won the girls team title with 97 points, edging out Berean Academy with 91.

Marion placed third with 78.5, followed by Inman 66, Remington 54, Bennington 50, Wichita Central Christian Academy 45.5, Classical School of Wichita 30, Sterling 26, Hutchinson Trinity 16 and Ell-Saline 4.

In the boys competition, Hutchinson Trinity’s Jacob Lindstrom captured the 1600-meter race with a time of 4 minutes, 33.85 seconds and Isaac Hammersmith won the long jump with a mark of 19-9.5.

Inman won the 4×800-meter relay (8:20.39), Bo O’Neill won the javelin (164 feet, 2 inches), Malachi Brunk won the pole vault (13-0) and Tyler Martisko won the 800 (2:00.01).

Sterling’s Zane Farney won the 110 hurdles (14.67) and the 300 hurdles (39.39).

Moundridge’s Heath Churchill won the high jump (6-6, beating out Hammersmith by 4 inches) and Kaizer Kanmitz won the triple jump (44-8).

Remington’s Bradyn Thomas won the 100-meter dash (11.43) and the 4×100 relay placed first (44.84).

Marion’s Wyatt Soyez won the 200-meter dash (22.96).

Sedgwick’s Layton Benjamin won the boys shot put (46-9). Berean Academy’s Ryley Busenitz won the 400 (49.76) and Brendan Busenitz won the pole vault (15-0).

HOA girls champions include Hutchinson Trinity’s Eilley Cost, who won the discus (124-10).

Sterling’s Julia Kilgore won the 200 (26.41) and 400 (57.18). Moundridge’s Cammi Unrush won the 100 (12.69) and the triple jump (34-8) and the Wildcats won the 4×800 relay (10:11.69).

Inman’s Brooklyn Black won the 300 hurdles (47.16) and the 4×100 relay placed first (50.01). Remington’s Alyssa Klingenbeeg won the 1600 (5:24.85) and Emily O’Brien won the 100 hurdles (15.6).

Berean Academy’s Clara Wiebe won the shot put (40-8). Bennington’s Jordan Bartlett won the javelin (135-1).

Classical School of Wichita’s Kaiah Cravens wont high jump (5-0) and long jump (16-0.75).

Marion’s Caleigh Johnson the girls pole vault over Berean Academy’s Autumn Hirsch. Both learned 10 feet. Marion’s Dylan Kraus won the girls 800 (2:17.23).
