Hutchinson Central Christian High School’s Harper Newcome posted first-place finishes in the 200-meter dash (27.61 seconds), 400 (1:02.84) and long jump (15-9.5) at the Heart of the Plains League track meet Thursday at Norwich.
Newcome also placed second in the 100-meter dash (13.83 seconds).
Townsly Huff won the girls high jump (5-0) and the javelin (113-10). Addi Loudenback placed first in the girls 300 hurdles (50.96) and second in the 100 hurdles (18.02).
Sophie Graham was third in the 400 (1:02.84). The 4×400 relay team was second (4:41.43) and the 4×100 relay was fifth (59.64).
For the Central Christian boys, Cal Barnett placed second in the triple jump (43-1.5), third in the 100-meter dash (12.37), third in the 200 (24.65) and third in the long jump (19-8.5).
Trey Miller was fifth in the shot put (39-1). Konnor Sullivan was fourth in the 100 hurdles (18.74), sixth in the 300 hurdles (52.98), ninth in the javelin (107-6) and ninth in the shot put (37-5). Cole Meehan was eighth in the discus (88-11).
Fairfield’s Brodie Snodgrass won the HOPL boys long jump title with an effort of 20-8. He also placed fifth in the 100 (13.0) and sixth in the title jump (37-3).
The Fairfield boys 4×800 relay team, placed third (9:22.62). William McIver placed third in the 800 (2:10.13) and Gavin Foster was third in the discus (123-3).
Jalen Busick was fifth in the long jump (18-3). Enrique Espinoza was seventh in the 800 (2:26.28).
Fairfield’s Kora Zongker placed second in the girls triple jump (32-4.5) and seventh in the long jump (13-8.5). The 4×100 relay was fourth (56.19). Kenley Fowler placed fifth in the 100 (1:09.73) and fifth in the high jump (4-4).
Pretty Prairie’s Lauren Detter placed first in the HOPL girls 800 -meter runs (2:29.24) and first in the 1600 (5:57.43).
Amity White won the 3200 (13:17.43) and placed second in the 1600 (5:57.47). Kayleigh Vogl placed first in the triple jump (35-1)
Pretty Prairie placed first in the 4×800 relay (12:45.45), first in the 4×400 relay (4:31.69) and second in the 4×100 relay (53.9).
Carolyn Anderson placed second in the discus (119-2). Brennan Schrag placed third in the 400 (2:52.11). Ava Goering was third in the high jump (4-6) and fourth in the 200 (29.89). Adreanna Ford was fifth in the 100 (14.59).
The Pretty Prairie boys got first-place efforts by Gunner Young in the 400-meter dash (55.6) and from the 4×800-meter relay team (9:11.49).
The 4×400-meter relay team placed second (3:50.18) and Ty McCullough was second in the javelin (144-2). Emmett Harbaugh placed fourth in the 800 (2:13.64) and Malachi Goering was fourth in the 1600 (5:13.74).
Carter Srucky okayed fifth in the javelin (127-4) and Owen Anderson was fifth in the discus (116-8). Linus Javier-Warner was fifth in the 100 (12.75) and seventh in the 200 (26.01).
Young and Braden Woods were sixth and seventh in the high jump (5-0 and 4-8).
