The Hutchinson Central Christian boys golf team placed sixth at the Larned Tournament Tuesday at the par-70 Edwards Park Golf Course in Larned.
The Cougars posted a 372 score. Hoisington won the tournament with a 338 score, followed by Russell 348, Hays-Thomas More Prep-Marian 354, Pratt 360 and Larned 365.
Lyons placed seventh with a 393 score, followed by St. John-Hudson 463 and Stafford 465.
Russell’s Jake Mooney captured the first-place individual medal with a 75. Hotsington’s Logan Cossel was second at 78 and Larned’s Brennan Stahlecker was third with a 79.
The top 10 players earned medals. Hutchinson Central Christian’s Cael Kooiman placed fourth with an 80 and teammate Tyler Reed placed seventh with an 84.
Central Christian’s Adam Eigsti placed 32nd with a 102 score. Bruce Wilson placed 35th with a 106 score. Karson Sullivan placed 40th with a 111 score. Bo Hobbes was 46th with a 122 score.
Lyons top golfer was Noah Geeves, who placed 23rd with a 92, followed by Easton Benavidez, 25th, 96; Derek Valerio, 27th, 99; Elijah Lyon, 36th, 106; and Alex Landeros, 37th, 108.
