Hillsboro Shuts Out Larned with 37-0 Victory

The Hillsboro High School football team handed Larned a 37-0 loss Friday night at Hillsboro.

Hillsboro led the Indians 24-0 at halftime.

In the first quarter, Zayne Haslett scored on a 3-yard TD run and Brayson Amstutz added a 2-point run. Then Hudson Rogers sacked Larned’s quarterback in the end zone on the next series for a 10-0 lead.

With 8:23 left in the second quarter, Haslett threw a 32-yard TD pass to Preston D’albini and the PAT run failed.

With 2:15 left in the first half, Haslett hooked up with Braxton Hiebert on an 8-yard TD pass and added the a 2-point pass to D’albini for a 24-0 lead.

Early in the third quarter, Haslett scored on an 8-yard TD run and Broden Loewen kicked the extra point for a 31-0 Hillsboro lead. That was the score at the end of the third quarter.

With 7 minutes left in the game, Haslett broke loose for a 36-yard TD run. The PAT failed and the Trojans led 37-0.

Larned hosts Halstead next Friday and Hillsboro plays at Haven.
