Hesston High School swept the boys and girls team titles at the Central Kansas League Track and Field Championships Thursday at Tabor College Stadium in Hillsboro.
The Hesston boys scored 154 points, followed by Pratt with 121, Hoisington 100, Smoky Valley 83, Halstead 61, Larned 51, Haven 40, Nickerson 38 and Hillsboro 35.
The Hesston girls placed first with 168 points, followed by Smoky Valley 131, Hoisington 94, Pratt 83, Halstead 76, Hillsboro 56, Larned 42, Nickerson 28 and Haven 12.
Three new CKL boys record were set: Halstead’s Dacen Dedmon won the 100-meter dash with a meet record time of 10.84 seconds and Pratt established new marks in the 4×100-meter relay (42.73 seconds) and 4×400 (3 minutes, 23.57 seconds).
Hesston’s Ashley Lehman set a new girls 400-meter dash record (55.53 seconds). She already owns records in the 100 (11.75 in 2025) and the 200 (24.83 in 2024).
The Halstead girls 4×100 relay team set a new CKL meet record of 49.8 seconds.
Smoky Valley’s Trista Spitler and Hoisington’s Keslyan Adee placed first and second in the girls high jump, clearing 5-4.
They tied the girls high jump record of 5-4 previously set by Sterling’s Sydney Wilson in 2014 and tied by Nickerson’s Ava Jones in 2022.

• Spitler, triple jump, 37-6. Halstead’s Annie Williams placed fourth with a mark of 36-1 and set the school record (previous mark was 24-8.25 set by S. Keller in 1999).
