The Halstead High School football team improved to 1-1 with a 56-6 win over the Nickerson Panthers Friday night at Hess Field in Halstead.
In the first half, Halstead quarterback Damien Whillock threw for two touchdown passes (48 yards to Dacen Dedman and 5 yards to Jacob Bennett) and ran for another and Edric Zorn scored on two TD runs (10 and 15 yards) in the first half.
Halstead’s Reece Carmichael added a 1-yard TD run and a 2-yard TD. Whitlock added another 1-yard TD.
Davis Conard made all nine of his extra point kicks for the Halstead Dragons.
Nickerson scored a touchdown in the fourth quarter.
Halstead will play a road game at Larned next Friday. Nickerson plays at Smoky Valley.
