The Great Bend Bat Cats were shut out 8-0 by the Santa Barbara Foresters Friday night in an NBC Tournament Pool C game at Wichita State University’s Eck Stadium.
The Bat Cats lost to the Liberal Bee Jays 7-0 Sunday morning in a Baseball ‘Round the Clock game.
The Bats Cats (24-10) play the BTL Hornets at 3 p.m. Tuesday in the final pool play game.
Santa Barbara pitchers Noah Waldeck and Daniel McAuliff combined for a seven-inning four-hit shutout. Waldeck pitched the first five innings, allowed two hits, walked two and struck out five.
McAuliff pitched the final two innings, allowed two hits, walked one and struck out none.
Jake Field, Eli Lang and Aiden Tackett pitched for the Bat Cats. They allowed eight runs on 10 hits, walked four and struck out four.
Santa Barbara scored one run in the bottom of the first inning, one in the third, five in the sixth and one in the seventh.
Donovan Lasalle homered and Brady Janusek tripled. Carter Rutenbar and Caleb Hoover each had two hits.
TJ Shaw, Tyson Owens, Jack Jewell and Cesar Chavira each had singles for the Bat Cats.
In the Great Bernd-Liberal game Sunday, the Liberal Bee Jays scored four runs in the top of the fourth inning and three in the seventh on five hits. The Bat Cats were held to four hits.
