Former Lansing High School and Hutchinson Community College standout Malik Benson made the Las Vegas Raiders’ 53-man roster as a wide receiver and kick returner.
Benson will wear No. 19 for the Raiders.
Sunday was the deadline day for NFL teams to make final cuts for their 53-man rosters.
The All-Big 10 receiver from the University of Oregon was drafted by the Raiders in the sixth round of this spring’s NFL Draft.
Benson was considered the No. 1 junior college wide receiver prospect in the country after playing two seasons at Hutchinson Community College.
He caught 102 passes for 2,206 yards and 21 touchdowns in 23 games for the Blue Dragons.
He committed to Alabama, but after catching just 13 passes in 14 games there, he transferred to Florida State in 2024. After one season with the Seminoles, Benson transferred again, finishing his college career at Oregon in 2025.
Benson caught 81 passes for 1,192 yards and eight touchdowns in three years in the NCAA.
