Junior running back Easton Schroeder scored five touchdowns to help Norwich defeat St. John 50-6 on the road in the rain.
Four of Schroeder’s touchdowns came on the ground, and one came on an interception return for a touchdown from 35 yards out, just as time expired to end the first half.
Norwich led 22-0 at halftime, and in the second half another Norwich running back got into the end zone as Marshall Eslinger, another junior, added two more rushing touchdowns for the Eagles.
St. John got on the board halfway through the fourth quarter when senior Jericho Mawhirter ripped off a 65-yard touchdown run, making the score 36-6. Then, Norwich scored the final 14 points of the game.
