Cheney senior Reece Tolar was named to the Wichita Eagle’s All-Metro Baseball First Team.
Eagle sports writer Taylor Eldridge posted the All-Metro baseball list on Monday.
According to the All-Metro article, Tolar was one of the state’s most dominant two-way players, earning Central Plains League Player of the Year honors and 3A Player of the Year honors for an 18-win Cheney team.
The Missouri Southern football signee hit .407 with 18 extra-base hits, six home runs, 34 RBIs and 14 stolen bases, while also striking out 101 batters in 52 1/3 innings with a 1.74 ERA.
Other area athletes were named to the All-Metro Second Team and Third Team.
