Cara Herbert Leads Larned Girls at State Track

Larned’s Cara Herbert placed fifth in the 3A girls 100-meter hurdles race with a Kansas Top 50 time of 15.38 seconds at the Kansas State Track and Field Championships, held Friday and Saturday at Wichita State University’s Crossland Stadium.

Herbert placed second in her preliminary heat with a time of 15.22 seconds.

Herbert also placed ninth in the 300 hurdles with a time of 48.33 seconds. Her qualifying time for the finals was 47.91 seconds.

Cammy Upson placed 13th in the 3A girls shot put (35-0.5)

The Larned boys 4×400 relay team of Lane Elam, Kolby Lang, Mason Cooper and Grady Pinkston placed 18th place (3:44.11).

Elam finished just short of qualifying for the finals in the 300 hurdles (42.22). Pinkston missed qualifying for the 3A boys 300 hurdles finals (52.42).

The Larned girls placed 35th in the Kansas Class 3A team standings at state with 4 points.
