ANDALE, Kan. — The Andale girls basketball program will have its third coach in three seasons.
On Monday, the USD 267 Board of Education approved the hiring of Ben Hamilton as the next girls basketball coach at Andale. Hamilton replaces Joe’Randle Toliver, who coached Andale for one season, finishing with a 17-7 record and an appearance at the Class 4A State Tournament. Toliver’s resignation was also approved on Monday.
Hamilton comes to Andale after nine seasons as the head girls basketball coach at Maize South. Hamilton went 153-52 at Maize South, helping the Lady Mavs to a runner-up finish in Class 5A in 2024. Hamilton was named the AVCTL-I Coach of the Year three times and guided Maize South to five appearances at state in Class 5A.
Along with his coaching duties at Andale, Hamilton will be a middle school technology teacher at Andale Elementary School. Hamilton inherits a team that graduated three starters, Brooke Grimes, Mayla Spexarth and Mia Aouad, and is set to return All-AVCTL IV first-team and all-state selection point guard Abbi Winter and All-AVCTL IV honorable mention pick Edyn Stolz.
