Bean earns KCAC Defensive Player of the Week

KANSAS — D’Heaven Domena of (RV) Kansas Wesleyan University, Derek Bean of Sterling College, and King Williams of Bethany College have earned this week’s KCAC Football Offensive, Defensive, and Special Teams Player of the Week honors, respectively, the conference office announced Monday. The three student-athletes were selected for their performances from Oct. 20-26 by a vote of conference sports information directors.


 

Offensive Player of the Week

D’Heaven Domena – (RV) Kansas Wesleyan University

5-10 | 205 lbs. | Sr. | RB | Charlotte, N.C.

Domena had a career game on Saturday against Sterling College. He rushed 40 times for 259 yards, and scored three touchdowns in KWU’s 35-0 win over the Warriors. He also added 51 yards receiving on two catches for 307 scrimmage yards on the night. His 259 rushing yards are the most single game rushing yards for a KWU player since 2018.

Defensive Player of the Week

Derek Bean – Sterling College

5-9 | 160 lbs. | So. | DB | Charleston, S.C.

Bean led the Warrior defense this week. In Sterling’s game against Kansas Wesleyan, he recorded 21 total tackles, 17 solo. Bean also had a sack, and two tackles for loss while also recording a forced fumble for the Warriors. He also had a kick return for 25 yards.

Special Teams Player of the Week

King Williams – Bethany College

Williams blocked a punt and returned it for a touchdown for the first score of the game. This got the momentum rolling in favor of the Swedes.
