LITTLE RIVER, Kan. — Ad Astra Radio is proud to announce Little River High School senior Jay Smith as this week’s Athlete of the Week.
The week – Smith won a pair of races at the all-classes wheelchair state track meet on Saturday at Cessna Stadium at Wichita State. Smith first won the 100 meters in a time of 22.29 seconds, and then later took the 400 meters championship in a time of 1:46.5
The season – Smith was one of the top wheelchair competitors in the state. He had a season-best time of 20.07 in the 100, and a season-best time of 1:37.82 in the 400. Both marks were the best for any boys wheelchair competitor this season.
