Ad Astra Radio is proud to announce Lauren Detter, upcoming junior at Pretty Prairie High School, as this week’s Athlete of the Week, presented by Hutchinson Community College.
The week – Detter gobbled up points at the Class 1A state track and field meet May 29-30 at Wichita State. Detter was state runner-up in the 1,600 meters, finishing in a time of 5 minutes,18.32 seconds. She also finished third in the 800 (2:22.23), and Detter anchored the 3,200 relay team to fourth place (10:05.8). Those three events earned the young Bulldogs 19 points. They finished in 12th place with 21 points.
The season – Detter, who will be a junior this upcoming school year, had a strong track season. Her season bests on the track were 1:01 in the 400, 2:22 in the 800 and 5:18 in the 1,600. Detter also plays volleyball and basketball at Pretty Prairie.
