KINGMAN, Kan. — Ad Astra Radio is proud to announce Kory Meireis with Kingman Boys Golf as this week’s Athlete of the Week!
The week – Meireis had a strong day on April 15 at the Kingman Invitational. Meireis won the tournament with an even-par 72. He won by two strokes and was one of only two golfers to go lower than 81. That helped Kingman to a fifth-place finish in the 10-team field, just 14 strokes behind the winning team, Pratt.
The season – Meireis has two wins out of his first three tournaments this spring, also winning the Nickerson Invite, while finishing second at the Pratt Invitational. His season-average is 74.3, and Meireis is among the Class 3A state contenders. Meireis is a three-time all-state selection and three-time state qualifier. He plans to attend Hesston College to study business while playing for the golf team.
