HESSTON, Kan. — Ad Astra Radio is proud to announce Hesston High School junior Ashley Lehman, Hesston High School junior as this week’s Athlete of the Week.
The week – Lehman had a dominant performance at the Class 3A state track and field meet May 30-31 at Wichita State. Lehman won four gold medals, sweeping the sprints. She won the 100 meters in a time of 11.99 seconds, the only girl in 3A to break 12 seconds in the finals. She also won the 200 (24.63) and 400 (54.65). Lehman also dominated the pole vault, clearing 12 foot, 4 inches, winning by nearly two feet.
The season – Lehman, a junior, was one of the top athletes in Kansas this spring. She entered the state meet as the top seed in all four of her events before winning by comfortable margins in all four events.
