Ad Astra Radio is proud to announce upcoming McPherson High School senior Cru Buchman as this week’s Athlete of the Week, presented by Hutchinson Community College.
The week – Buchman had a week to remember at the Class 4A state baseball tournament. In the first round against Pratt, Buchman delivered the game-winning hit in a pulsating 4-3 McPherson win. He was also the starting pitcher in that game. Next, Buchman was the winning pitcher in the third-place game, an 11-0 win over Paola. For the week, Buchman batted .375 with four RBIs. On the mound, Buchman pitched 7 2/3 innings and had a 0.71 ERA.
The season – Buchman had a great season for the Bullpups. He batted .323 with 24 RBIs, while stealing 10 bases in as many attempts. On the mound, Buchman sported a 6-0 record with a 1.41 ERA. He struck out 45 batters in 49 2/3 innings pitched.
