McPHERSON, Kan. — Ad Astra Radio is proud to announce this week’s Athlete of the Week as McPherson High School senior Addie Herrera!
The week – Herrera may have pitched the best game in the state this season Friday, as she went toe-to-toe with Wamego’s Peyton Hardenburger, who will play softball at Tennessee. McPherson won 3-2 in 18 innings, and Herrera blanked Wamego for the final 17 innings. She allowed 10 hits, struck out seven, walked two and threw 206 pitches. For the week, Herrera went 2-0 with a 1.17 ERA.
The season – Herrera has been one of the biggest catalysts in leading the Bullpups to a 22-0 start and to the top of the Class 4A West Regional standings. The Kansas Wesleyan University commit is 8-0 with a 1.25 ERA. She has 38 strikeouts to just nine walks in 44/ ⅔ innings pitched.
