ANDALE, Kan. — Ad Astra Radio is proud to announce this week’s Athlete of the Week, Andale High School’s Cooper Marx!
The week – Marx continued his strong season by winning the discus on Friday at the Salthawk Invitational at Gowans Stadium in Hutchinson. Marx had a winning heave of 144 feet, 1 inch, winning the event by 15 inches. Marx also took third in the shot put (49-0).
The season – One of the state’s best all-around throwers, Marx ranks seventh in Class 4A in the discus (148-5) and fifth in the shot put (51-0 ½). He is also the all-class leader in the hammer throw (201-3), which is not an event that is contested in the postseason in Kansas. Marx will next compete on Friday in Goddard.
