IOLA, Ks. — Allen Community College announced today that Athletic Director Doug Desmarteau is no longer employed by the college, effective immediately.
To ensure continuity within the department, Allen Community College President Dr. Lyvier Leffler will assume the role of interim athletic director while the college conducts a national search for a permanent replacement.
“Our commitment to student-athletes, coaches and the continued success of our athletic programs remains unchanged,” Leffler said. “We have a talented team in place, and we are confident that Allen athletics will continue to provide an outstanding experience for our students during this transition.”
Select coaches and athletics personnel will assist Leffler with additional administrative and operational responsibilities to support the department and its teams.
The college expects to launch a national search for its next athletic director in September.
