McPHERSON COUNTY, Kan. — The Women and Children Combating Cancer Fund, administered by MCCF, will be increasing the maximum grant amount that can be awarded to women and children cancer patients in McPherson County.
This comes as the board for WACCC recognizes that more could be done to help offset the rising costs that patients are seeing. According to board member Jen Bonham, the grants that reimburse patients’ expenses will now be $750.
“We realize that costs across the board are on the rise.” Bonham said. “Due to the generosity of our donors, we are able to increase our annual grant amounts from $500 to $750.”
WACCC has long been an active organization in McPherson County, often partnering with local business to provide free Mammogram screenings. The grants have been given out through the Foundation since 2006. These grants serve the purpose of helping alleviate financial stress, by providing funds to cover travel, medical, nutrition and shelter expenses.
Grant applications can be submitted by filling out the form on MCCF’s webpage under medical needs. For more information contact MCCF Program Associate Jessi Boughfman: [email protected] or 620-245-9070.
