NEWTON, Kan. — A Newton woman was arrested on suspicion of attempted second-degree murder and other charges Friday evening after a disturbance in the 300 block of East Second Street.
Newton Police responded to a report of a domestic disturbance at around 10 p.m. Friday. During the investigation, officers determined that a man and a woman had a physical fight culminating with the woman attempting to run over the man with a vehicle. The man also had injuries consistent with being struck in the head with an object.
The woman had left the residence prior to officers’ arrival and was located at a secondary location a short time later. Kayla Osborn, 31, of Newton, was arrested on preliminary charges of attempted second-degree murder, domestic battery, possession of methamphetamine, criminal damage, DUI and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The investigation is ongoing.
