GREAT BEND, Kan. — The Great Bend USD 428 Board of Education has approved a guaranteed maximum price of nearly 4.8 million dollars for renovations of the former CUNA Mutual Group Property in the 1800 block of 24th Street, which is proposed to be used for a pre-school and administrative offices for the district.
USD 428 acquired the property in 2022 from CUNA for a discounted price of 1.3 million dollars. Representatives of Construction Manager at-risk McCown-Gordon and Schaefer Architecture met with the board Monday night to present the cost proposal.
