HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The USD 308 Board of Education held its regularly scheduled meeting on May 6th at 6:00pm at the USD 308 Administration Center. The full agenda can be found here: https://go.boarddocs.com/ks/usd308/board.nsf/public
The scheduled presentations were not heard, and were invited to speak at the next regular meeting, May 20th. Presentations included: 308 Nursing Team, Early Learning Logo and Name, Lincoln-McCandless Name Change.
Board Action Items: Real Estate Property Approval to List for Sale – HCTEA Building Trades Home at 2800 Morris Rd., Real Estate Property Declaration of Surplus Property – HCTEA Building Trades Home at 2800 Morris Rd. were passed unanimously.
The Board voted in favor of holding a special meeting on May 13th, at 6:00pm for a presentation by the Facilities Steering Committee. The meeting will be held at MidTown at 200 E. Sherman St. During the month of April, USD 308 held approximately 30 community meetings to gather public input regarding a facilities master plan that will meet the current and future needs of the USD 308 community. Parents, staff and community members were encouraged to provide feedback through surveys. The May 13th presentation will include survey data and other findings from the steering committee.
The Board approved an Organizational Chart in a 5-1 vote, and approved Resolution 2024-014 unanimously.
The Superintendent Consent Agenda was approved unanimously. Agenda items included: Annual Skyward Student Renewal; Accounts Payable – April 2024; Annual Leader in Me Agreement – 2024-2025; Annual VMware Renewal; Early Head Start Building Lease; Grants; and Gifts to Schools.
The Board entered into Executive Session for the purpose of discussing personnel matters pursuant to non-elected personnel exception under KOMA. The open meeting will resume in this room at 6:50 p.m. Dr. Dawn Johnson and Krystal Young were included in the executive session. Upon its return, the Board approved the Personnel Report.
