United Way of Reno County Welcomes New Staff

RENO COUNTY, Kan. — United Way of Reno County (UWRC) recently welcomed Amanda Vega to its staff on March 11. Vega will be taking the positions of Office Assistant and Imagination Library Coordinator.

According to United Way of Reno County, Vega is a single mom of five and can speak three languages (English, Spanish and ASL). Vega loves to teach emergency sign language as well.

“In addition to keeping the UWRC office running smoothly, she also oversees the Dolly Parton Imagination Library Program for Reno and Stafford counties,” United Way shared. “Her passion is to help her community and to be a good person. Amanda also loves reading and Mexican food.”

On March 7, UWRC also welcomed Shauna Schoepf-Pearce as a new Board Member. 

Schoepf-Pearce has been a Reno County resident almost her entire life according to UWRC. Currently, she lives in Haven with her husband Skip Pearce and their two girls Mila and Adley. She is a 3rd Generation owner of Shep Chevrolet, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. 

Besides serving on the United Way Board, Schoepf-Pearce is also the Chairman for the Haven Recreation Department and is involved in the Haven Community Church Youth Group.
