SHARE NOW

HUTCHINSON, Kan. – At United Way of Reno County, we believe financial stability is a foundation for strong families and a strong community. Because of your support, local partners are doing meaningful, life-changing work every day—and today we’re excited to share an important update while highlighting how your investment continues to strengthen financial stability across our community.

VITA Is Open for the Season

Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) officially opened and will operate through April 15. This program provides FREE, trusted tax preparation services to eligible households earning under $75,000, helping families keep more of what they earn and access valuable tax credits.

VITA is made possible in part through United Way of Reno County funding, along with dedicated community partners and volunteers.

VITA is one of several ways United Way invests in long-term financial stability for individuals and families. We’re proud to support local partners who are doing meaningful, on-the-ground work every day.

Take Control Financial Wellness Program by Interfaith Housing

The Take Control program is open to anyone in the community and uses proven financial coaching techniques to help participants identify goals, build positive financial behaviors, and create pathways toward lasting stability. Whether someone is just starting their financial journey or working to overcome challenges, the program is designed to meet participants where they are.

Cirlces Reno County

Breaking the cycle of poverty takes more than a one-time intervention—it takes relationships, long-term support, and a community that believes in the potential of every person. That’s the heart of Circles Reno County, a community-driven program dedicated to helping individuals and families build financial stability and move toward long-term economic independence.

Through support from United Way of Reno County, Circles provides a structured, relationship-based model that connects people from all economic backgrounds to create a network of support. Participants, known as Circle Leaders, set goals for their future and receive consistent guidance, tools, and encouragement to achieve them.
