Two people were seriously injured Saturday in a two-vehicle crash on U.S. 54 just east of Piqua in Allen County, authorities said.
The Woodson County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch Center received a 911 call at 11:59 a.m. Responders found both vehicles in a ditch and used the Jaws of Life to free two occupants, who were flown to regional trauma centers.
A third person exited a vehicle before emergency crews arrived and had apparent minor injuries.
U.S. 54 was closed for approximately three hours while responders worked at the scene and established landing zones for the air ambulances.
Fire, law enforcement, emergency medical and emergency management personnel from Allen and Woodson counties responded, along with mutual aid partners.
