HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Hutchinson Fire Department responded to a structure fire at the 1000 block of North Plum Saturday evening at approximately 6:55 p.m.
First arriving fire crews found minimal smoke showing from the outside of a single-story duplex. As crews entered the home, they were faced with heavy smoke and fire in a kitchen. Upon entering, crews found two dogs and removed them from the home.
Unfortunately, the dogs were deceased. All occupants were out of the home. The fire was extinguished quickly. No injuries reported. Cause is under investigation.
