HUTCHINSON, Kan.  — Attempted first degree murder charges are pending against a man in connection with a Tuesday morning stabbing incident in Hutchinson.

Captain Dayton Gates said officers responded to the area of 16th and Plum where the victim was found with multiple stab wounds. The victim was first taken by EMS to Hutchinson Regional Medical Center and later to a Wichita hospital where at last word they were in stable condition.

The victim and suspect, identified by police as Felipe Augustine, had been in an argument, and investigation led officers to believe the victim had been battered by Augustine the night before.

Augustine, whose name was listed on Reno County Correctional Facility online records as Felipe Augustine Deleon, was booked late Tuesday morning on requested charges that also include aggravated battery, battery, and theft. He’s being held on a $110,750 bond pending an initial court appearance expected this morning.
