HUTCHINSON, Kan. — One person received minor injuries in a late Thursday night apartment fire in midtown Hutchinson.

The Hutchinson Fire Department was called to the 100 block of West 9th about 11:30 PM, with the first arriving crews finding heavy fire showing from the front entry extending to the second floor of a two-story multi-family structure.

Fire was found throughout the home and into the attic, but they were able to keep fire from spreading into a second apartment which did have smoke damage. The person who was injured was checked by EMS and released on-scene.

Cause of the fire is under investigation and the Red Cross was called in to assist occupants of the two apartments.
