McPHERSON, Kan. — The ReUse It Center announced its Volunteer of the Month today as well as the donations for August.

August Volunteer of the Month: Kathy Berry

Berry has been a volunteer at the Center for nine years. She started working at the ReUse It Center as a cashier and currently works at pricing and setting up the front display area.

Berry was asked why she started volunteering at the ReUse It Center and what has made her stay through the years.

“When I first visited RUIC’s original location, I immediately knew it was something special. The people were friendly and helpful, and the items available made it easy to cut costs on my projects. So, when I retired, volunteering here felt like the perfect next step. It’s truly inspiring to work alongside so many talented volunteers from all walks of life, all coming together to prepare donations and support countless community organizations. RUIC is absolutely the place to volunteer — the environment is warm, welcoming, and full of purpose. I’m incredibly thankful to be a part of it!”
