HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Kansas State Fair is excited to announce iconic alt-rock band The Fray hitting the Nex-Tech Grandstand stage with Plain White T’s on Saturday, Sept. 13 at 7:30 p.m.
Known for their emotionally charged alt-rock sound, The Fray captured the hearts of listeners in the early 2000s and beyond. Known for their deeply personal lyrics and emotive piano-driven rock, the band’s music has continued to inspire fans across generations. Their breakout single, “How To Save A Life,” spent 58 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 and became the unofficial anthem of the hit series Grey’s Anatomy. The band has earned four GRAMMY Award nominations, three Billboard Music Awards, and critical acclaim from Rolling Stone for their “stick-in-your-head hooks and eloquent narratives.”
Opening the night will be Plain White T’s, an alt-rock powerhouse known for catchy, heartfelt anthems that have earned them over 2.7 billion global streams, multiple Platinum and Gold certifications, and two Grammy nominations. With hits like “1, 2, 3, 4” and “Rhythm of Love,” along with the quadruple-platinum “Hey There Delilah,” the band continues to remain a vibrant and influential force in music.
