HUTCHINSON, Kan. – The SW Bricktown Neighborhood in Hutchinson will celebrate National Hispanic Heritage Month with the 5th Annual SW Bricktown Fiesta starting at 5 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 26 in SW Bricktown Park. The park is located at 300 W. First Ave.
This year’s Fiesta has expanded to feature a Kermes-style market, folk dancers with Grupo Folcľorico Tonantzin, and a Skill Lucha Libré wrestling showcase. A street dance concert will headline the entertainment, with music from Groupo Differencia and DJ Domino of 620 In the Mix. Food trucks, inflatables, and beer sales round out the celebration. The Fiesta is free and open to all ages

About SW Bricktown Neighborhood: The SW Bricktown Neighborhood is directly west of downtown Hutchinson and was the first featured neighborhood of the Healthy Neighborhoods Initiative. Since the neighborhood was organized, residents have put together several neighborhood events including National Night Out block parties, clean up days, Cinco De Mayo, created public artwork, and successfully advocated for major improvements to SW Bricktown Park.
About National Hispanic Heritage Month: National Hispanic Heritage Month began as Hispanic Heritage Week in 1968 and was extended to a month in 1988, and it is observed from Sept. 15 to Oct. 15 each year.
