The search for a missing Butler County man has ended after human remains were discovered in a wooded area approximately one mile from where he was last seen.
Search crews found human remains in Butler County during the search for 77-year-old Fred Dieter, who had dementia and went missing June 13th from his rural Augusta home.
The remains were about a mile from where Dieter was last seen. Forensic confirmation of his identity is still pending.
