The McPherson Board of Public Utilities has all available crews working to restore power as quickly and safely as possible as of just before 6:30 AM they were aware of about 500 customer outages and are down to about 150 with most of these involving issues with individual homes or services. The BPU asks that if you don’t have power to please report it on their 24-hour outage line, 620-504-7300. BPU reminds you to never approach or touch downed power lines, always treat them as live and dangerous.

The City of McPherson has asked residents to limit their water usage until they can mitigate all the rain. The Wastewater Treatment Facility and lift stations are running at max pumping, and even with that mains are still backing up., Use as little water and flushes as possible until further notice,
Extensive flooding is being experienced at Turkey Creek Golf Course, which one long time employee said in a Facebook post is likely the highest flood he’s experienced.

Due to today’s flooding, the McPherson Center will be closed today, and there will be no lunch.
At Windom, a number of trees and limbs were also downed, along with some power outages.
In Little River, there were also downed tree limbs and power outages.
The Haven Police Department reported a peak wind gust of 71 miles an hour as the storm passed. In Haven some large trees are down, and there were a lot of trash bins relocated. There were some power outages, but those have all been restored
Lyons City Administrator Troy Houtman told Ad Astra News this morning there were a lot of tree limbs downed by the limbs, but trees themselves came through fairly well. Houtman added the water has been draining well.
