KANSAS – The National Weather Service Office in Dodge City has issued a Tornado Watch for much of Western Kansas until 7:00 p.m. Severe storms are expected late Thursday afternoon and evening with the best chances for severe storms for locations generally along and west of Interstate 135 in the 3 to 6 p.m. time frame and for locations along and east I-135 after 6 p.m.
Hail up to 2 inches in diameter, 70 mph winds, and a few tornadoes will be possible with the stronger storms.
A few storms will be possible generally after 5 p.m. on Friday for locations along and especially east of Interstate 135. Large hail and damaging downburst winds will be possible with stronger storms.
