HUTCHINSON, Kan., Dec. 12, 2023 — It’s that time of year when the holiday favorite, The Polar Express, rolls into the Carey Digital Dome Theater at the Cosmosphere. The film, based on the children’s book of the same name by Chris Van Allsburg, tells the story of a young boy’s journey to the North Pole aboard a magical train. Showtimes will be everyday between December 15 and January 1. There will not be showings on December 25, as the Cosmosphere will be closed.

Learn more about the Christmas Star at Cosmosphere’s Justice Planetarium. The Mystery of the Christmas Star, which retells the Christmas story as it pursues the scientific explanation of the star the wise men followed to find the infant Jesus, is shown daily.

December 15, 2023, through January 1, 2024, Cosmosphere is open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. seven days a week, with the exception of December 24 when the Cosmosphere closes early at 3 p.m. and December 25, when the Cosmosphere will close for Christmas.
