The Southwind Extension District Horticulture Judging team consisting of Abigail Meiwes (Iola), Jewel Endicott (Uniontown), Hailey Shadden (Uniontown) and Seth Shadden (Uniontown) attended the State 4-H Horticulture Judging Contest, Saturday, Aug. 10 at Kansas State University. The team placed 1st out of 10 teams and qualified to attend the National Horticulture Contest in October in Lincoln NE. The contest consisted of 50 ID samples, 8 judging classes, and a 25-question knowledge test. The team is coached by Casey Diver of Yates Center.
