McPHERSON, Kan. — The McPherson Chamber of Commerce appointed a Nominating Committee in accordance with its bylaws, in which members Carlyn Lemon, Tiffani Floyd, Clint Church, and Chad Hitt are to present a slate of potential candidates to replace the four board members whose terms expire August 31, 2024.
The outgoing board members are Lenny Favara – Central Christian College of KS, Becky Goss – McPherson County Community Foundation, Courtney Rierson – Swindoll, Janzen, Hawk & Loyd, Tiffani Floyd – Culver’s Wines and Spirits, and Four Seasons Realtors.
The Board of Directors is comprised of professional and inspirational volunteer leaders with a passion and desire to serve our community. Their wide range of expertise and experiences will be a great asset to help guide the McPherson Chamber and support its mission of “visionary leadership promoting a vibrant business community and enhanced quality of life.
The following slate have been presented to Chamber Partners for approval:
Paul Williford – Paragon Precision Metal, Jody Hack – Swindoll, Janzen, Hawk & Loyd, Kayla Moritz – McPherson Center for Health, and Abbey Archer Rierson – McPherson College.
The candidates will serve full three-year terms beginning September 1, 2024, and have met each of the following criteria:
- A Chamber member in good standing; and
- Have agreed in advance to accept board responsibilities.
Members may nominate persons otherwise qualified for the Board of Directors by petition. Requirements for a petition to be valid:
- Bear genuine signatures of members representing at least ten percent of the Chamber membership; and
- Be presented to the Executive Director by 5:00 p.m. at 306 N. Main on the 10th day after the notification of the slate of candidates.
Absent any valid petition, the Board of Directors will declare the four nominated candidates elected at the June meeting.
