As of mid-afternoon Sunday, at least six people have died in crashes on Kansas Highways.
The Kansas Highway Patrol said four of the fatalities came from a Saturday afternoon crash on K-4 about four miles west of the K-15 junction south of Abilene where a vehicle crossed the center line and struck another vehicle. Four others in that crash were injured, two of whom were taken to a Wichita Hospital.
A Wisconsin man was killed and two injured Saturday afternoon on US 75 south of Burlington when a pickup pulled onto the shoulder to avoid colliding with another vehicle that was passing another, that vehicle also taking the shoulder where the two collided. The fatality was the driver of the passing vehicle.
A Florida man died early Sunday morning when his car, which was going at a high rate of speed, went off US 77 near Junction City and hit a tree, after which it caught on fire.
