GARNETT, Kan. — While there will likely not be a Senior Farmers Market Voucher program in Kansas this year, there will be one in Anderson County thanks to local support.

Thanks to efforts of the Garnett Chamber of Commerce and generous support of the Anderson County Council on Aging, the program that provides eligible seniors $50 worth of vouchers for use at the Garnett Farmers Market will be available this year, starting June 29 and running through the end of August.

Applications for the vouchers will be available at the Anderson County Extension Office starting June 23.

Additional information on the program can be obtained from the extension office or at the Garnett Farmers Market, which takes place Thursdays from 4:30 until 6:30 p.m. on the Garnett Square.
