HAVILAND, Kan. — U.S. Senator Roger Marshall, M.D. toured Barclay College’s new nursing program. The college in Haviland has the only 4-year nursing school program in Southwest Kansas and is working to fill the health care worker shortages in rural Kansas. The college offers a traditional nursing BSN and an R.N. to BSN degree program.
“As a physician who practiced medicine and ran a rural hospital, I am excited to see this major development in Haviland,” Senator Marshall said. “The health care workforce shortages in rural America have really impacted access for care across our state. I look forward to watching this program excel and seeing these graduates serve our rural communities in a big way.”
