Salina Man in Custody After Explosives Were Found in Residence

One person is in custody after search warrants were executed Tuesday in Salina.

The Salina Police and Fire Departments along with a hazmat team, the State Fire Marshal and a bomb squad from Riley County executed the warrant at a location in the 2000 block of Page Avenue, where completed suspected homemade fireworks and explosives were found along with numerous chemicals used to manufacture explosives.

33-year-old Christopher Leger of Salina was booked into the Saline County jail on two counts of Arson tied to separate incidents involving damage to an unoccupied residence.

Salina Police said Wednesday afternoon an investigation is ongoing and there is the possibility of additional charges.
