SALINA, Kan. — Retiring Salina USD 305 Superintendent Linn Exline will continue in an education role, as she was named this week the new head of Kansas Wesleyan University’s Teacher Education Department.

KWU President Dr. Mark Thompson said in announcing her new appointment few people in Salina have ever been more dedicated to its education than Linn Exline, and her more than three decades of experience gives her the knowledge, background and connections to help students be ready for the classroom like few others could.

Exline, a Salina native who has numerous KWU graduates in her family dating back multiple decades spent her entire 33 year education career in Salina, starting as an elementary teacher and working her way up to the superintendent role she’s held the past six years.

“It was a great honor to lead USD 305, but retiring from that role was never the end of my career,” said Exline. “I always knew I wanted to find a way to continue to give back. I believe the most important factor in education is the quality of the teacher at the front of the classroom.”

Exline will begin her Kansas Wesleyan role later this summer.
