HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Hutchinson Fire Department crews responded to a residential structure fire at 2:43 p.m. today at 319 East 8th Avenue.
Upon their arrival, units found light smoke coming out of the eaves of a one and a half story duplex. Crews then made an interior attack and found light smoke in the attic space.
They were able to locate the fire with a thermal imager and opened the ceiling to completely extinguish it. Prior to the crews arriving, all occupants had safely exited the residence.
No injuries were reported and moderate damage to home was sustained in the attic area. Fire investigators determined the cause of the fire to be electrical.
